Planes diverted from Malaga airport as storms lash the Costa del Sol and inland

HUNDREDS of passengers had their travel plans disrupted when planes were diverted from Malaga airport to other Andalucian cities as storms hit the Costa del Sol.

Ten flights from the UK, France, Holland and Sweden were forced to divert to Sevilla and Granada due to electrical storms and have been grounded for several hours awaiting a ‘window’ to complete their journeys.
