A GUARDIA CIVIL officer from Madrid has won second prize in a Europol competition for best security forces photograph 2017.
Diego Jesús López Cantos’ shot was taken during a training exercise in Toledo and is entitled Training makes us perfect.
A member of the French National Gendarmerie took the winning photograph for Making Europe Safer which was taken from an EC145 helicopter on a surveillance mission over Mount Saint Michel in France, at beginning of the Tour de France in 2016.
Third prize went to Alfred Effenberger of the Austrian police with his image of two Austrian motorcycle cops.
Photographers from all member forces of Europol plus associate bodies entered this competition.
