NUTTY: The drugs were found in a shipping container of almonds

APPROXIMATELY 200 kilos of cocaine were found inside a shipping container of almonds delivered yesterday to a well-known Altea processing plant.

On opening the container, workers allegedly found backpacks immediately inside the doors and further inspection revealed that they contained several large plastic-wrapped packages, reliable Euro Weekly News sources were told.

The same sources speculated that the almond shipment had probably originated in California but it was uncertain whether the backpacks or the drugs would have travelled that far or used that route.

It was more likely that they were thrown in the back of the container with the connivance of a worker at whichever Spanish port received the almond shipment.

Details of the find have yet been disclosed by the Guardia Civil or police.
