WEATHER WARNING: Three metre high waves are forecast in Malaga, Granada and Almeria
SPAIN’S state meteorological office, AEMET, has issued yellow weather warnings from 2pm until midnight on September 9 for the coastal areas of Malaga, Granada and Almeria provinces.
The agency is predicting wind gusts of up to force seven from the west whipping up waves of two to three metres.
Emergency services have warned sightseers to keep well away from the waters edge.
Weather warnings have also been issued in the north of Spain for heavy rain and high seas as a cold front sweeps down through the Pyrenees.
Meanwhile a yellow alert has been issued for heavy rain and thunderstorms in Mallorca on Sunday (September 10).
