A GRIEVING grandmother claims herf €4,150 holiday was ruined when she saw dead bodies being wheeled into a morgue from the window of her four-star hotel room in Torremolinos.
Jackie Colbert and her husband had been looking forward to spectacular views of blue skies and Spanish landscape from their room in the Club Hotel Riu in Torremolinos but instead were forced to endure shocking views as workers carried bodies to the local hospital morgue.
Mrs Colbert, 60, told British media that she found the experience very harrowing having recently lost her brother-in-law, claiming the grim sights caused her to experience flashbacks.
As well as fresh bodies being taken to the morgue, she also witnessed funeral directors collecting the cadavers from the Maritimo Cita Previa hospital.
The Glaswegian grandmother-of-two said that she was forced to put towels across the windows to obscure the view but was still haunted by the rattling trollies each night.
She claimed that she would have been less shocked had issue been highlighted when she made the booking and sees the view as a lack of respect both for those who have passed away and for hotel residents.
A spokesperson for Thomson expressed their dismay at her experience and claimed that they were in direct contact with the client and the resort team in a bid to solve the issue but had been unable to offer a suitable resolution as Mrs Colbert did not bring it to their attention while on the holiday.
