POLICE in Spain have stopped an elderly cyclist who was four times over the drink-drive limit.
Guardia Civil officers in Galicia breathalysed the 73-year-old man at a routine drink and drugs roadside check point for cycling ‘erratically’.
He could now face a €1,000 fine.
After being charged by the police he then pushed his bike to a local bar to have another drink.
In Spain, as France, Italy and Portugal, cyclists are subject to the same-drink driving laws as motorists.
