Three injured in gangland shootout near school in Spain

A GANGLAND shooting left three people injured – one seriously – after a drug dispute in a Valencian town.

Police believe the fight near a school in Plaza de Benicarlo, Paterna, was between two rival gypsy gangs following an argument about drug money.

Of the three injured, two were transferred to hospital where one was reported to be in a serious condition. The third person injured apparently made his own way to the nearest health centre.

Paterna Council has stated that the school´s normal activities were not affected by the event.

Five people have been arrested and more than 20 police officers have been assigned to the ongoing investigation.
