Blue Square Real Estate open new Costa Blanca office

Blue Square Moraira.

BLUE SQUARE REAL ESTATE (Blue Square) specialises in selling property internationally and providing clients with exceptional service in over 12 languages.

Managing Director Stuart Pratt describes Blue Square as an “international company for international clients.”

Blue Square already had two offices in Javea and Moraira on the Costa Blanca North and opened their third – in Calpe – on Saturday, September 30.

Ahead of the opening the Euro Weekly News had a coffee with Stuart to find out what makes Blue Square stand out from the crowd:

Congratulations on the upcoming opening of the Calpe office, Stuart – How many Blue Square offices are there now?

Thank you! The Calpe office will be our 14th worldwide and our fourth here in Spain.

What areas do you cover here in Spain?

We sell properties from Oliva down to Altea on the Costa Blanca North and from Gran Alicante down to Los Alcazares on the Costa Blanca South.

Your agents speak many languages… how does this help Blue Square stand out from the crowd?

Many estate agents here in Spain tailor their services to one nationality of buyers – the English agents attract the English buyers; the Dutch agents attract the Dutch buyers and so forth.

At Blue Square, when a potential buyer gets in touch with us, they will deal with an agent in their own language. We understand that as a foreigner wishing to buy on the Costa Blanca, the purchasing process may be different than what a buyer is used to so we like to make things as simple as possible.

The multilingualism of our agents also means that vendors’ properties are being seen by the entire buying pool, not just one nationality.

How do you market properties?

Our vendors’ properties are advertised locally and globally – both online and through our network of offices.

Do you have any special offers, prices or promotions?

If vendors sell their property through Blue Square on an exclusivity basis, we offer a 4 per cent fee.

Otherwise, our standard multi-agency fee is 5 per cent.

What other services do you offer to clients?

We can guide both our buyers and our vendors through the entire purchase/sale process – we have a host of services that clients can pick and choose from depending on their requirements.

We can recommend trusted, independent:

• Currency services

• Legal services

• Mortgage services

We also recently launched Blue Square Aftersales which means not only do our buyers and vendors receive first class customer experience during the purchase/sale process, but afterwards as well – we are on hand to arrange everything from furniture removal/ delivery to setting up utilities.

What is your background in real estate?

Well, where do I start? I started my working life as a Chartered Surveyor in Scotland after graduating from Edinburgh University with honours in Estate Management.

I then worked as a Commercial Director for one of the largest realtors in Spain before the recession hit and I moved into residential development in Italy and North Africa.

Some years later I moved into property development in France, where I soon identified a gap in the market for an international estate agent – that was where Blue Square Real Estate was born seven years ago.

We opened 10 offices in France before we moved to Spain two and a half years ago.

What’s next?

We plan on opening another office on the Costa Blanca North, expanding into the Costa del Sol next year and are opening in Ibiza in November 2017.
