Barcelona man shoots wife and baby before committing suicide

POLICE in Barcelona are probing whether a man killed his wife and baby before committing suicide.

Officers found the woman, who had been shot in the head, in the building’s reception, while her husband was found dead next to their 11-month-old child in the apartment upstairs. The bodies of the man and the baby also had gunshot wounds, and a firearm was found next to the man.

The events took place around 3pm yesterday (Sunday) in the Sant Marti district of Barcelona.

Officers are now investigating whether the incident was caused by domestic violence.

According to a statement released by the Catalan police, initial evidence suggests that the husband killed the other two members of his family before shooting himself.
