At least 50 dead and 200 injured in Las Vegas country music festival shooting

AT LEAST 50 people were killed in a shooting at the Mandalay Hotel on the famous Las Vegas Sunset Strip.

More than 200 people were wounded as the gun man opened fire at about 10.30pm local time last night.

An official tweet from the Las Vegas police force urged people to stay away from the area whilst confirming that the single person they believed to be responsible was ‘down’ and that no-one else was suspected of being involved.

Authorities say that 14 of those taken to hospital are in a serious condition.
