Magic Tropical Splash Water Park Aparthotel in Cala de Finestrat
HOTEL staff and firefighters have quickly extinguished a fire at the Magic Tropical Splash Water Park Aparthotel in Cala de Finestrat on Spain’s Costa Blanca.
Four fire engines and crews attended the scene accompanied by ambulances and medical personnel to deal with any smoke-inhalation casualties.
An eye-witness said, “We’re guessing it was a cigarette butt thrown onto a straw roof. There were flames and a lot of smoke but the hotel staff were quick to act.”
Another guest said, “It was scary. The bar area was full of smoke. It happened on Tuesday night too.”
“No alarm went off. If it happened through the night we would not have a chance.”
The aparthotel is located in Avenida de la Marina Baixa in Cala de Finestrat – just six kilometres from the centre of Benidorm and is very popular with British holidaymakers.
The resort boasts a state-of-the-art water park completely renovated in 2016.
