YESTERDAY (Thursday) evening saw a sell-out gala dinner at El Oceano Hotel in La Cala de Mijas raise a record €30,500 for the Positively Pink charity.

Special guest auctioneer Lorraine Chase who had flown over from the UK especially to help raise funds showed why she had been a model in her younger days, wearing a champagne coloured designer dress with train to perfection.

Although she was possibly the belle of the ball, all of the lady guests in particular looked fantastic, making a huge effort to look as glamorous as possible and many wore pink in support of the charity.

Particularly ‘Pretty in Pink’ were founder of the charity Lorraine Palmer and her daughter Jordana who are both tireless supporters of Positively Pink as well as running El Oceano Hotel with their respective partners.

The theme of the evening was a night to party through the decades with performances by various artists including Janet Jaye as Tina Turner, Stelvis, the Rat Pack and Carolynn May as Shirley Bassey but the evening was always a tribute to the charity and the fact that it has given thousands of women along the coast the opportunity to have regular checks for breast cancer.

All of those who gave their time, their generous donations or simply spent their money on attending the ball are to be thanked for their continued support.
