ROCKFALL: The MA-8401 between Jimera de Líbar and Benaoján was totally blocked
MALAGA and the Costa del Sol will remain on a yellow severe weather warning through until Thursday as up to 20 litres per square metre of rain might fall in one hour.
The warning for heavy and persistent rains also includes the Axarquia, Costa del Sol and Guadalhorce, according to the state weather agency Aemet.
Last night Jerez de la Frontera was particularly hit and cars were stacked in the street after the flood water receeded.
And the 112 Andalucia emergency call centre recorded more than 230 incidents across Cadiz, Cordoba and Sevilla provinces.
In the Guadiaro Valley in the Serrania de Ronda today (Wednesday) drivers had a lucky escape when a huge boulder crashed down onto the road.
The MA-8401 between Jimera de Líbar and Benaoján was totally blocked while emergency teams worked to clear the road.
