AMAZON’S famous logo may not be smiling so much as more than one thousand workers in Spain plan to stage a two-day walkout following a dispute with company over salary increases and workers’ rights.
Spain’s largest union, the Comisiones Obreras (CCOO) has announced that strike will take place on March 21 and 22 and involve other unions.
The union has claimed that Amazon wants to block salary increases, cut wages and reduce payments for those working weekends or holidays as part of a new contract agreement.
The company said it ‘offers a competitive pay structure’ and has already held talks with the unions.
