Young bull-runner dies after goring during San Agustin festivities in Spain

A YOUNG runner has died after being seriously gored during a bull-run in Spain this evening (Thursday).
He was gored in the abdomen despite trying to take refuge behind a barrier during the San Agustin festivities, an event declared of regional tourist interest, held every August 30 in the municipality of Fernan Caballero in Ciudad Real.
Paramedics at the scene said that the man had lost a lot of blood before he was rushed to the Ciudad Real General Hospital where he passed away.
The encierro (bull run), which began at 7pm is staged each year with two bulls from Víctor and Marín ranch, who roam the streets of the town watched by hundreds of spectators and encierro fans.
Although video of the horrific goring has been widely distributed on social media the Euro Weekly News has made a straightforward editorial decision not to show it.
