FIVE young ladies who had their room safe, containing money, passports and documentation, stolen while they holidayed on the Costa Blanca have been saved by the generous members of a Benidorm Facebook group.
Jacqui Perkins, an administrator of the Benidorm & Costa Blanca News & Information Forum, with more than 31,000 members, put out a plea for help this afternoon (Friday) and within no time the members came up trumps.
Jacqui had said, “I am appealing for any help you can give in getting them to the British Consulate in Alicante by 8.30am on Monday morning to pick up their temporary passports in time for them to catch their flights home early afternoon. Any help would be appreciated.”
And then the offers of help came flooding in from the members…
Dave McQueen from AlicanteTransfers.com offered to give up his time free of charge to take the girls to the Consulate in Alicante on Monday.
And forum member Stan Gregory has offered to by the girls and meal and drink before they leave Benidorm.
Jacqui told the Euro Weekly News, “What wonderful members we have. You are a wonderful group and I can’t thank you enough.”
Group member Susan Walker said, “Brilliant news, nice to hear something good came out of something so terrible. Well done xx”
And Alison Harries added, “What lovely members in this group. So proud of them all and proud to be in this group. Well done xx”
Colette Lehane O’Hara chipped in, “Fantastic to see people helping these poor girls xx”
The Benidorm & Costa Blanca News & Information Forum is a closed Facebook group that offers all the latest news and information on Benidorm and the Costa Blanca, and the Euro Weekly News team is proud to be associated with, and play an active role, in the group.
