AUTUMN has arrived with a bang with fourteen provinces in Spain on yellow weather warning alerts for heavy rain, thunderstorms, gales or high tidal waters today (Wednesday) according to the Spanish Met Office, AEMET. Yesterday many parts of the Costa Blanca, including Benidorm, suffered flooding as the heavens opened. But it didn’t deter some holidaymakers who took to surfboards and lilos in the knee-deep streets (scroll down for videos). Weather alerts remain in place in Alicante and Valencia for heavy rain again today. In Andalucia, in the south of the country, strong winds are forecast in parts of Malaga and Cadiz provinces, heavy rain in Almeria and thunderstorms in Sevilla and Cordoba. Murcia is also on yellow alert for heavy rain. Emergency services have warned everyone to be careful and added the hashtag #FelizMiércoles – Happy Wednesday! SPAIN WEATHER ALERTS: September 26, 2018.
