Scottish family’s desperate bid to bring lad's body home from Benidorm

BILLY BLACK, an 18-year-old from Edinburgh, has tragically died while on holiday with his father in Benidorm on Spain’s Costa Blanca.
The teen, who had Type 1 diabetes, died on Monday while in the resort with his father Ian.
His sister Kirsty said that Billy had to take daily insulin injections but it was possible that he might not have been doing so regularly while he was on holiday.
Billy’s tragic death has sparked a plea for help from the family to raise cash to bring his body home and his friend, Dawid Lokietek, has set up an online fundraising page with a target of £5,000.
The page said: “Sadly on the 08th of October 2018 our beloved son, brother, uncle and  nephew was taken from us while he was on holiday in Benidorm.
“Billy had diabetes type 1 and unfortunately didn’t look after his body like he should have.
“At such a sad and devastating time we are currently trying to raise funds to bring Billy home to where he belongs with his family in Edinburgh.
“We ask for any donations or spare change you have to help us bring him home to his family!”
In just over a day the fund has already achieved £7,674 but Kirsty is urging kind-hearted donors to keep the giving to the fund going after discovering the soaring costs of repatriating Billy’s body.
