A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of setting fire to the Centre of Nature and the Coast ‘The Chameleon’ in Chipiona, Cadiz, causing more than €300,000 worth of damage. » Scroll down for video… The 17-year-old is accused of setting light to a plastic bottle, which fell onto the grass in strong winds, which accelerated the flames. The fire spread through and destroyed 5,000 square metres of broom where the protected species of chameleon live and reproduce. A large part of the Facilities of Interpretation Centre itself was also gutted in the blaze. A spokesperson for the Guardia Civil, said neighbours have been complaining about vandalism in the area for some time, as well as drug use. There is no information to suggest the suspect is involved in previous offences.
