Airline ditches summer routes from two UK airports to key holiday destinations in Spain

BRITISH AIRWAYS has announced it is dropping its summer-only routes from two UK airports to the Spanish holiday hotspots of the Costa del Sol and Mallorca
BA will terminate the routes from Birmingham and Bristol airports at the end of October 2018 and will not resume them in 2019.
The carrier launched the services out of the two airports in summer 2017, marking the return to both airports after a ten-year break.
There were four weekly departures from each of the airports to Malaga-Costa del Sol and Palma.
BA CityFlyer General Manager (Commercial and Customer) Luke Hayhoe said: “We have decided not to resume flights from Birmingham and Bristol next summer due to the complexity and cost of operating from airports where we have no crew bases.”
The airline has said it will reimburse the full amount to all customers who have already bought tickets for these routes.
