MALLORCAN hotel chain Som Hotels will open next spring in the town of Porto Cristo, and it is the first holiday resort aimed exclusively at female customers. The four-star hotel, located in Manacor, will offer 39 rooms that are “intricately designed for women looking for a rest in a natural and Mediterranean environment.” President of Som Hotels, Joan Enric Capella, explained that the hotel is a reaction to market trends, and that “it is an innovative project that will help to keep Mallorca at the forefront of the tourism industry.” Capella added that the concept of setting up a women-only hotel arose when observing “an increasing trend of business focused on the female public.”
