THREE British friends holidaying on the Costa del Sol saw their two-week trip end in a stabbing, a wrecked car and the disappearance of a suspect. Police were notified of a knife attack in the Benal Beach apartments, Benalmadena, where a 43-year-old British man had been stabbed several times. Officers report the victim was accompanied by a friend in the apartment but a third man, the alleged aggressor, 28, had gone missing. The wounded 43-year-old man was transferred to hospital with reported stab wounds to his shoulder blade, hands and legs. The stab wounds were judged not to be life-threatening and the victim was discharged hours later. Local sources report that the victim and his friend were interviewed by UDEV officers, the Unit against Specialised and Violent Crime in order to gather their recollection of the attack. The British witnesses allege that the 28-year-old suspect had returned to the shared apartment in the build-up to the attack, “very nervous and aggressive”. The two claimed that the alleged attacker admitted to crashing a rented Nissan Juke in the proximity of the Benal Beach apartment. The man who reportedly found the victim claims to have left the apartment in search of the damaged rental car and claims that when he returned to the apartment the 43-year-old victim had been stabbed and the 28-year-old was nowhere to be seen. Police are continuing their search to locate the missing British man.
