JEAN JOHANSSON has been announced as the new presenter of Channel 4’s foreign property hunting show A Place in the Sun.
The new presenter has already started her role shooting in  Spain saying: “I’ve been filming over the last few months on the Costa Blanca and the Costa del Sol and it’s a nice dynamic because you are working in the sunshine and everyone is relaxed and excited.”
Johansson from Greenock in Scotland said: “The weather has been amazing and the days are long but I’ve not put a bikini on since the start of filming.”
Johansson, 37, a broadcast journalist for BBC’s The One Show and newspaper columnist, will help prospective property buyers searching for a new life in Spain and other countries, she said: “It’s the dream job and everybody wanted it.”
Johansson claims, fellow Scot, Danni Menzies, beat her to the role two years ago but her perseverance paid off after re-auditioning for the hit show this year.
“I managed to get an audition again this year and, after three days of screen tests, they said I had the job. I haven’t met Danni yet but it’s great that two Scots are on the show.
Jean’s first appearance on the show is scheduled for November 30.
