A 24 year-old man has been arrested in the Basque town of Santurtzi for allegedly stabbing his partner, 51, and her 28 year-old son. The son’s injuries are believed to be the more severe, according to the Basque government’s Department of Security. While the woman received several stabs, the son was reportedly stabbed eight times. The incident occurred at 10am on Monday morning and when police arrived they managed to locate and apprehend the suspect. Both the mother and her son were transferred to Cruces Hospital to be treated for their injuries. The wounded son had to be evacuated through a window of the house, as the staircase was not wide enough for the stretcher. The suspect is reportedly a national of Cameroon who has a criminal record. According to the Department of Security, the woman reported her partner a year ago for domestic violence.
