A SUSPECT wearing a motorcycle helmet is accused of stealing a man’s briefcase as he went to make a bank deposit.
The victim, a man aged 40, suffered head wounds after he was attacked as he entered a branch of Unicaja in Torre del Mar at around 12.45pm on Monday.
The man reportedly walked into the bank carrying a briefcase, presumed to be containing cash which he was about to deposit.
As he approached the door, a suspect wearing a helmet allegedly got off a motorbike driven by a presumed accomplice and threatened the victim with a gun.
After refusing to hand over his case, the man was said to have been repeatedly hit over the head by the butt of the perpetrator’s weapon.
The victim let go of his briefcase, allowing his attacker to make off with it.
Officers from the National Police are now investigating and the victim, who was reportedly bleeding profusely from his head, was taken to hospital.
