EMERGENCY services were called out to a beach in San Roque after the lifeless body of a man was found there last Sunday. Andalucia’s 112 Emergency Services line said in a statement they were alerted to the find at around 7am. A resident of the area them they had seen the corpse lying around 500 metres away from the Sotogrande treatment plant near the Carbonera Lighthouse. Guardia Civil officers and medical personnel were despatched to the scene. They said the body was wearing a wetsuit-style top and jeans and that it was already beginning to decompose. Authorities have since opened an investigation into the body to determine how the man died and other details about him. The man’s origin and the reason why he was in the sea remain unknown. The investigation continues.
