A SUSPECTED drug addict allegedly held his father and a tenant hostage at knifepoint to extort money to fund his habit.
National Police officers arrested the 37-year-old Spanish man at the shared home in Malaga last week.
He is accused of being involved in crimes of threats, illegal detention and illegal possession of weapons, after the reported incident in Portada Alta.
According to a police statement, the accused lives with his father, and had rented a room to a woman and her son.
Sources claim the 23-year-old son of the tenant and the detainee’s father were ‘threatened with a knife on repeated occasions’ so that they gave him money to fund his ‘drug problem’.
Officers recovered a firearm during a search of the property, believed to belong to the accused.
