International fugitive, wanted for the repeated sexual abuse of a girl, 10, arrested in Spain

THE National Police have arrested in Madrid a 31-year-old Filipino citizen internationally wanted by Norway for the alleged repeated sexual assault of a ten-year-old girl.
The alleged sexual assault occurred when the girl was under his care, according to the Superior Police Headquarters of Madrid in a statement.
An international police cooperation channel worked together on bringing the suspect to justice.
The ENFAST platform -European Network of Fugitive Active Search Teams was used to locate and apprehend the 31-year-old suspect.
Through this channel, operational information was exchanged regarding cases of special relevance for the Police Corps of the countries involved in the operation.
Norwegian and Spanish had earmarked the capture of the suspected child abuser as a priority case and the international cooperation framework has been hailed as crucial to the arrest of the Filipino suspect.
National Police officers entered n address in Madrid to apprehend the fugitive, who was living in the city with his wife and two daughters, aged three and one.
He was arrested on charges dating back to 2015 when, on several occasions, the fugitive allegedly forced the victim, a ten-year-old girl, to perform acts of a sexual nature.
The fugitive allegedly took advantage of his position as the carer of the ten-year-old girl to carry out the sexual abuse.
The man has worked for years in the care of minors in several countries, including Spain..
Police are furthering their investigation to discover if further victims of the detained man exist.
