A GOOD Samaritan was hit in the face when she tried to stop her alleged attacker from groping a young woman in broad daylight in Palma, Mallorca. The older woman was reportedly walking along the busy area of the Avenues of Palma, when she noticed a stranger, who ‘appeared to be under the influence of narcotic substances’, apparently ‘harassing’ and trying to touch a female passer-by. She approached the man, asking him to leave the young woman alone, but he became aggressive and ‘gave her a strong blow to the face’, causing injuries which required stitches. It’s not clear if the victim was punched or struck with a ‘blunt instrument’. A handful of witnesses to the alleged assault on both women managed to hold on to the suspect until several National Police officers arrived minutes later. The ‘attacker’ was immediately handcuffed, arrested and taken into custody awaiting court proceedings.
