TOURISM officials on the Costa del Sol have completed a campaign put on with a budget British airline to attract more holidaymakers from the country during the autumn. The push for tourists saw the Costa del Sol’s tourism board work alongside Jet2holidays. The ‘high impact’ campaign included placing online advertisements on Jet2’s website in a bid to reach up to 37 million potential British customers during September and October. Emails were also sent out to potential holidaymakers who lived less than an hour away from the Belfast, Birmingham, East Midlands, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle and Stansted airports. Arturo Bernal, a director at Tourism Costa del Sol, said: “This campaign had a great impact on a priority market for the region.”
