THE 5th Magistrate’s Court of Vigo, northern Spain, is looking into the death of a baby after a mother gave birth at home.
The mother did not receive any medical assistance during the birth of the baby.
The incident took place this Monday when complications arose, the baby was in a breech position, the parents reportedly called for help on the 061-phone number of the Emergency Medical Service.
According to the Spanish media, the baby arrived lifeless at the Álvaro Cunqueiro hospital who informed the police to the incident.
Although the parents were warned by several midwives that the home birth could be risky, the family decided to go ahead regardless as they did with their first child.
