THE Guardia Civil and a search party of 200 volunteers have been looking for Laura Luelmo, a 26-year-old teacher, since Saturday 15 in the south of Spain. Laura Luelmo disappeared last Wednesday 12 in El Campillo, Huelva. All searches around the small town of El Campillo near to Minas de Riotinto have been unsuccessful so far. Police have confirmed there has been no arrests surrounding the disappearance of Ms. Luelmo after the Guardia Civil ruled out that the missing teacher disappeared voluntarily. Laura Luelmo is from Zamora, northern Spain and had just moved to El Campillo to start a teaching job at the Vázquez Díaz institute in nearby Nerva. Police sources believe she left her home on Wednesday and has not been seen since. Ms. Luelmo only began her new job eight days prior to her disappearance was reported, according to the Guardia Civil. When officers searched her home, they found certain articles were missing, including sports clothes, shoes, keys, a mobile phone and a small purse. Spanish media reports claim Ms. Luelmo used her phone on Wednesday night to contact her partner and has not used the device since. Search parties have been looking around the several local areas for the missing teacher. The Mayor of El Campillo has said: “We are a small town and very quiet. We are powerless before the suffering of the family…. We will help as much as possible, but without hindering the work of the Security Corps.” Ms. Luelmo is 1.65 in stature and has a slim build.
