British man dies in Spain despite desperate CPR efforts performed by local police officers

A BRITISH man who was resuscitated by police in Torrox after suffering a heart attack in the street has died in hospital.
Two local policeman performed CPR on the 81-year-old man after he fell ill in the middle of the street, managing to restore his pulse and stabilise him but he died two days later in hospital.
The man, whose name has not yet been released, reportedly lived in Torrox for 15 years before suffering a heart attack walked down the busy Avenida de Andalucia, near the beach on Torrox Costa.
The case had initially seemed to have a happy ending after the man was resuscitated by two local policemen, Alejandro Ortiz, 38, and German Luque, 39.
The man was later transferred to the Axarquia Regional Hospital where he was admitted to Intensive Care before dying two days later.
Torrox’s Mayor, Oscar Medina, praised the two officers who battled to save the man’s life.
