EIGHT new business projects will be announced next week to ‘reindustrialise’ Lloseta and the region as a whole after the closure of Cemex cement plants.
A total of 14 initiatives have been developed by a Working Group set up by the state and regional government, which includes six projects earmarked for the areas affected by the shut-down of the firm’s Gador site.
Cemex and the unions have been involved in the scheme, with the ‘objective of finding employment and industrial activity alternatives’.
The Lloseta plant ceased producing cement in October, but many workers retained their positions until a few weeks ago.
