A SECURITY guard has been arrested in connection with the looting of homes in a housing estate in Marbella where he works.
The 46 year-old Spanish man was reportedly caught inside a house ‘for no apparent reason’ after activating a central alarm which National Police responded to.
According to sources, the detainee stole the keys for at least four houses from the community janitor and used his position as a night security guard to enter the homes, allegedly stealing cash, luxury watches, jewellery and a laptop computer.
The stolen goods, found at the accused’s house, were subsequently recognised by the legitimate owner.
The inquiries revealed that the security guard had taken the keys to the houses behind the back of the concierge, who had detected in recent days changes of location of them.
The suspect is already under investigation in relation to a theft from a DIY and construction department store in September.
