SPANISH National Police have arrested a 17-year-old individual for hacking over 200 social media accounts. The hacker requested a cryptocurrency payment from victims in exchange for the return of their social media accounts. Cryptocurrency is a digital asset designed to work as a medium of exchange that uses strong cryptography to secure financial transactions. Several complaints were made by the owners of the accounts, stating that the hacker had even taken over verified Twitter and Youtube accounts. The investigation is still ongoing. The police are urging other victims of this offence or similar incidents to contact them via e-mail.
