Her Majesty The Queen awards honours to three British residents in Spain

RICKY Garland, Elaine Mary Horton and Candida Wright have been awarded honours by Her Majesty The Queen in New Year Honours List 2019.

Mr Ricky Garland, Volunteer of HELP Vega Baja, Mrs Elaine Mary Horton, President of HELP Jalon Valley and Mrs Candida Jane Wright, President of HELP Denia and Marina Alta who also received a Points of Light award two years ago, have been honoured with a Member of the British Empire (MBE) award for their services to British nationals in Spain.

All three are British residents in Spain.

The Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) is awarded for an outstanding achievement or service to the community.

The British Ambassador to Spain, Simon Manley, said: “I am delighted that the commitment and compassion of Ricky Garland, Elaine Mary Horton and Candida Wright have been recognised by Her Majesty The Queen in this way, after so many years of service to British nationals in Spain.”
