THE ‘Three Kings Parade’ is an essential part of Spain’s Christmas and one of the most magical nights of the year for children and adults alike. The arrival of Three Kings marks the end of the Christmas holidays in Spain and as a plus, the following day is a public holiday. Despite Father Christmas or ‘Santa Claus’ trying to gradually make his way into the Spanish culture, the traditional and most appreciated Christmas figures are the Three Kings. Gaspar, Balthasar and Melchior, the ‘Reyes Magos’, will visit Spanish homes on the night of January 5. The Kings arrive on camels and bearing gifts for children. The ‘Cabalgata de Reyes’ is one of the biggest events of the year. The highly decorated floats will be throwing tons of sweets into the crowd and will be accompanied by performers. Each King will be riding a different float and sitting a throne surrounded by his ‘courtiers’. Find all the information on the ‘Three Kings Parade’ below.
