OFFICIALS in Mijas granted some 300 licenses for new business from the start of 2018 until the middle of last month, around 12 per cent higher than the previous year.
Mijas Council figures showed around 60 per cent of new companies office-based service sector firms.
The remaining 40 per cent were bars, restaurants, hairdressers, supermarkets, tourist shops and other retailers.
