GUARDIA Civil went to the assistance of a man who was knocked down by car when walking on the A-92 dual-carriageway in Tabernas in the early hours of the morning. A number of drivers alerted the Guardia to the situation, reporting seeing someone looking disorientated walking down one of the lanes going in the Granada direction. A patrol was immediately dispatched to try and find the individual. After nearly two hours of searching the hard shoulders and road sides of the road in both directions officers were still unable to locate him, but then received a second call from base informing them a driver believed he had hit someone at the kilometre 379 mark. Officers found the man weaving between the hard shoulder and the lane with injuries to his head and extremities. While they were waiting for the medical services to arrive the man told agents he had been trying to cross the dual-carriageway when he got knocked down. The emergency services transferred him to the Torrecardenas hospital in Almeria city for treatment for minor injuries.
