MALAGA CITY is competing against Rome, Berlin, Lisbon and others to be crowned Europe’s best destination for this year.
The Costa del Sol city is one of 20 taking part in the European Best Destinations (EBD) competition for this year. It is organised by a group of the same name.
EBD chose Malaga City for its shortlist because of the city’s mix of traditional and contemporary features, its beaches, food, shopping, events and cultural offering.
Others in the competition, created to promote culture and tourism in Europe, include Vienna, Edinburgh, Geneva and Bratislava.
Voting opened on Tuesday and the public has until February 5 to cast their votes at: www.europeanbestdestinations.com/european-best-destinations-2019/.
