AIRPORT CHAOS: Freak UK weather delays flights to Europe including Spain

BITTERLY cold weather across the United Kingdom is causing travel disruption, as some of the biggest airports are forced to close their runways.

Public transport is being affected, and many roads are unpassable.

The Met Office has issued yellow warnings for the UK for snow and ice with freezing-cold weather.

The Met Office has also warned that some villages could be cut off and drivers are at risk of being stranded.

The severe weather warnings are due to continue throughout the week.

Masses of flight passengers could be seen stranded, including holidaymakers travelling to sunny Spain.

One of the most affected UK airports is Manchester, which in the last hour closed runways as weather conditions worsen and become more challenging.

Liverpool airport has also temporarily closed its runways this morning due to the severe weather.

Many airlines that have flights from the UK to Spain have warned that some of their routes may be affected due to the extreme weather conditions, including Vueling Airlines.

UK airports recommend passengers check the status of their flights with their airlines and allow plenty of time for journeys to the airport.
