THE editor of Euro Weekly News sat down with a journalist for The Observer to talk Brexit and how it is affecting British expatriates in Spain.
Dilip Kuner met with The Guardian and Observer’s International Affairs Correspondent Emma Graham-Harrison for a feature that appeared on the British newspaper’s site yesterday (Sunday).
Our editor told Ms Graham-Harrison that out letters and readers’ comments suggested there was a more or less even split between Leavers and Remainers amongst expatriates, much like in Britain.
“From our postbag, I’d say it’s pretty evenly split. The divide was very much reflected here among the expat community, which I found surprising. I thought it would be very much more a Remain vibe,” Mr Kuner said.
Euro Weekly News also spoke with Ms Graham-Harrison about her time researching Brexit and the expatriate community on the Costa del Sol.
She said her experience of coming to Spain had been “great”.
“It’s always great to get out of the office and talk to people. I found there was a wide-range of views on Brexit from talking to people whilst here,” Ms Graham-Harrison said.
