FOOTAGE shows how a man leaves his baby on a train in Ohio, USA, while stepping on to the platform to have a cigarette.

The station’s security cameras show how the man gets off the Cleveland train, that has stopped at a platform, to smoke a cigarette but the doors to the cart close shortly after, taking off with the child inside.

Images record how the desperate father tries to chase the train after unsuccessful attempts to open the train’s doors.

According to USA press, the father thought he had enough time to smoke when leaving the baby alone on the train.

A passenger reportedly alerted the driver who stopped the train. The father and baby were soon reunited.
