TWO police officers reportedly stopped a mother from throwing her three-year-old daughter out of a 10th floor window in Malaga.

The woman, 20, was arrested after police agents were called to an apartment building in the Spanish province after being alerted by a neighbour who said she had heard loud cries coming from a child.

The National Police arrived at the scene and quickly located the floor from which the toddler’s cries had originated.

After insistently knocking on the woman’s door, she finally opened it with a naked child in her arms.

The woman, who became agitated after officers asked about the state of both mother and child, ran into the kitchen with the girl in her arms and tried to throw her out of the window.

After struggles between police officers and the mother, they managed to free the child from her arms and prevent them both from falling into the void.

According to Spanish press, officers, who were injured during the struggle, also prevented the ‘child’s asphyxiation’ as the mother had her hands around the toddler’s neck whilst trying to throw her out the window.

The mother was transferred to the Hospital Civil for further evaluation and the child has been left in hands of her paternal grandmother.

Reports claim the apartment ‘displayed a clear state of unsafety with excrements and rubbish found around the home’. In one of the rooms, officers found a dog locked in a cage surrounded by faeces.

The woman could face charges of attempted murder and assault on a police officer.
