POLICE in Cheshire in the UK have widened their search for a fugitive, asking their Spanish colleagues for help, after he was allegedly spotted in Benidorm.
Leon Cullen is wanted for questioning by the police after a Warrington-based drugs and guns operation was dismantled by investigators.
The police believed that on Anthony Cullen ran the operation, fronted by a seemingly legitimate business, Future Press Ltd, assisted by his brother Leon, who is believed to have escaped to Spain.
During the case, Liverpool Crown court heard that the brothers “used fear to rule the streets of their home town, and ran a dugs’ business on a scale that competed with powerful gangs from Liverpool and Manchester”.
Leon is believed to have been seen in Benidorm, driving around the town in “a big Audi”, prompting investigators to ask the Spanish authorities for assistance, something incidentally which will become more difficult post-Brexit.
