THE Local Firefighters and Police of Cartagena successfully rescued a seven-year-old boy trapped inside a hole in Murcia.
The 112-Emergency Services of the Region of Murcia received a call at around 16.30pm yesterday (Tuesday), warning officials of a child that was stuck in a hole and not able to get out.
The incident occurred on the Sierra de la Iguana of El Albujon street in Cartagena.
Firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Extinction Service (SEIS) and Local Police of the city of Cartagena were called to the scene, along with the Medical Coordinator of the Emergency and Sanitary Emergencies Management 061 which transferred a Mobile Emergency Unit.
First to arrive were the Local Police who confirmed the child’s situation and notified that he was conscious but with one foot jammed inside the hole.
The Cartagena Firefighters were able to free the boy and revealed that he had not been injured but requested an ambulance to move him to the Santa Lucia Hospital of Cartagena.
