HAVING first opened its doors in 1977, the world-famous Benidorm Palace is set to welcome its 16 millionth customer.
Offering a unique experience in the area, it was in July, 1977, that the first spectacle was performed on the stage of the variety club, where patrons are treated to a night out like no other, a fantastic and flamboyant show, with a meal accompaniment, meaning that everything you could want for a fun-packed evening is served up to you, by a dedicated team who want to make sure that your evening is as special as their´s.
Despite the fact that the venue has a capacity for 1,600 people, there is always plenty of room at the tables to enjoy your meal and view the show, but it is that capacity that has allowed the management to calculate their success, and how they are on the brink of welcoming guest number 16 million.
According to Vicente Climent, the owner, “I’ve done the math, and 42 years of continuous operation with a capacity of 1,600 spectators tells me that we are very close to 16 million tourists received at this time”, adding, “about 3,500 shows have premiered in the room, featuring such delights as Brazilian ballet, renowned national and international artists, and has even hosted several  Spanish Song Festivals, galas and the election of Miss Spain, not forgetting the appearance in the ITV comedy TV show Benidorm, or the appearance of Rudolf Nureyef.
Renovated in 2005, the hall is now specialises in all kinds of musical shows, dances of all persuasions, acrobatics, magic and humour, and is set to make the summer of 2019 a very special one for all, but especially if you are that lucky 16 millionth visitor.
