MEMBERS of the Atestados of the Ferrol Guardia Civil and the Pontedeume Seprona patrol have seized 87 fox skins after a vehicle search in A Coruña.
The animal skins were found during a routine search carried out by officers on the FE-14 motorway near Caranza.
The reported goods were classified as ‘Sandach products’, an animal product not intended for human consumption, with some of the skins still presenting remains of bloody and organic material.
The driver of the van was not able to prove the origin or destination of the merchandise and was taken to the Ferrol barracks.
The vehicle remains impounded and will be left under judicial custody in the case of charges being filed.
