BORDER POLICE in Spain have arrested two men of Cuban nationality responsible for stealing luggage and bags from unsuspecting tourists.
The police had been stationed at Alicante-Elche airport in an operation to help eradicate theft in the area when they noticed a man sitting in a badly parked car acting suspiciously.
Keeping a close eye on the vehicle, it wasn’t long before a second man came running towards the car carrying a woman’s handbag.
Despite trying to flee, the men were detained, questioned and subsequently arrested.
The handbag contained personal documents, two expensive mobile phones and £900 cash, all of which was returned to the rightful owner, who explained how one of the men had distracted them shortly before.
